Our Albertan Steak Poutine brings together tender slices of juicy steak with crispy McCain® Superfries®, smothering it all in melted cheese curds and gravy. It’s truly the best of the west!
Ingredients
- 1 16 oz sirloin steak
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp canola oil
- 1 bag (650 g) McCain® Superfries® Straight Cut
- 1 398 mL can gravy (poutine gravy is best)
How to make it
-
Cook McCain® Superfries® Straight Cut according to package directions. Season steak with salt and pepper.
-
Heat oil in a cast iron pan over high heat. Add steak and cook until medium doneness, about 8 minutes, flipping halfway through cook time. Remove from pan and let rest for 10 minutes. Once rested cut into 1/4 inch slices.
-
Meanwhile, heat gravy in microwave or in a small saucepan over medium heat until simmering.
-
Transfer Superfries® to a platter, top with cheese curds, steak slices and gravy. Serve immediately.
Tip: remove steak from fridge and allow to reach room temperature before cooking
