Contest Rules

OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE THE CHANCES OF WINNING. This giveaway (the “Contest”) is intended for eligible Queen’s University students who are legal residents of Canada and at least 18 years old. Void where prohibited. By entering, entrants agree to these Official Contest Rules (the “Rules”).

1. Sponsor

The Contest is sponsored by McCain Foods (Canada), a division of McCain Foods Limited (the “Sponsor”). The Contest is administered on behalf of Sponsor with the assistance of its promotional representatives.

2. Contest Period

The Contest begins November 6, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and closes November 20, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”). Only eligible entries completed during this period will be considered.

3. Eligibility

To enter, an individual must (a) be a legal resident of Canada; (b) be at least 18 years old at entry; and (c) be a currently enrolled student at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Sponsor may require proof of age, identity, residency and current student enrollment before awarding the prize. Employees of Sponsor and its affiliates, advertising or promotional agencies, contest administrators and their immediate family or household members are ineligible. Inaccurate or misleading eligibility information may result in disqualification.

4. How to Enter – No Purchase Necessary

During the Contest Period, visit the designated Contest post published by creator Dimitri Kalpakidis on Instagram or TikTok (each a “Contest Post”). From either platform, (1) like the Contest Post and (2) leave a comment on that same Contest Post, tagging another person. Both actions must be completed on the same platform to constitute an entry. Any non-offensive comment qualifies. No purchase or payment is required. Entrants must have a valid Instagram or TikTok account and comply with the relevant platform’s terms. Private account settings or unavailable posts may prevent verification of an entry.

5. Entry Limit and Verification

Limit one (1) entry per eligible person across both platforms combined during the Contest Period. Liking and commenting on both posts does not generate additional entries. Multiple comments, accounts or other attempts to circumvent the limit will not increase the number of entries and may lead to disqualification. Entries created by bots, scripts or automated methods are invalid. Sponsor may request verification of account ownership and entry completion. Entries are subject to review for compliance with these Rules.

6. Prize

One (1) prize is available: a Metro grocery gift card with a face value of $500 CAD, which can be used at all Metro and Food Basics Stores in Ontario and Quebec. Gift card redemption is subject to Metro’s applicable terms and conditions; availability and use at a particular store should be confirmed before publication. Prize must be accepted as awarded, is not transferable or redeemable for cash except where required by law, and may be substituted by Sponsor with a prize of equal or greater value if necessary. Metro is not a sponsor or administrator of this Contest.

7. Random Draw and Odds

One (1) potential winner will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period. The draw is scheduled for November 21, 2026, at a time and location determined by Sponsor or its designated administrator. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received across both platforms.

8. Winner Notification and Verification

The potential winner will be contacted by direct message through the same Instagram or TikTok account used for the selected entry, sent from the creator’s account, and will be provided an email address, and directed to reach out via email for next steps. The potential winner must respond within twenty-four (24) hours to confirm eligibility, including showing proof of current Queen’s University enrollment. Before being declared a winner, the potential winner must correctly answer, without assistance or mechanical aid, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question administered by Sponsor or its representative and complete any required declaration, release or prize acknowledgment. If the selected entrant cannot be reached, fails to respond in time, is ineligible, fails verification or the skill-testing question, or declines the prize, Sponsor may select another potential winner by random draw. Only a verified eligible entrant who completes these requirements will be declared the winner.

9. Prize Fulfilment

Sponsor or its administrator will coordinate delivery or collection of the gift card with the confirmed winner. No purchase or payment is required to claim the prize. The winner may be asked for contact and delivery information solely to facilitate verification and fulfilment. Timing and delivery method will be communicated to the confirmed winner.

10. Declaration, Release and Publicity

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the confirmed winner may be required to sign a declaration of eligibility and release acknowledging the risks associated with participation and prize use, and releasing Sponsor, its affiliates, agencies, contest administrators, prize providers, creator, and their respective officers, employees and representatives from claims arising from the Contest or prize. Any use of the winner’s name, likeness, statements or other identifying information for publicity or promotion will be subject to applicable law, any necessary consent, and Sponsor’s approved declaration and release.

11. Privacy

Information supplied by entrants or a potential winner will be used only as reasonably necessary to administer the Contest, verify eligibility, contact the potential winner and fulfil the prize, unless another use is separately authorized. The entry actions occur on Instagram or TikTok and are also subject to those platforms’ privacy practices. Sponsor and its authorized service providers must protect personal information and retain it only as required for legitimate Contest administration and applicable legal obligations. The information will be collected by a Salt XC team member and used solely for the purpose of verifying the entrant’s eligibility. It will not be used for any other purpose. 12. Social Platform and Retailer Disclaimers

This Contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram, TikTok, Meta or Metro. By entering, each entrant acknowledges that questions regarding the Contest should be directed to Sponsor rather than those organizations. To the extent permitted by applicable law, entrants release Instagram, TikTok and Meta from claims arising from this Contest. All trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

13. General Conditions and Liability

Sponsor may disqualify entrants who violate these Rules, use fraudulent or automated entry methods, or interfere with Contest administration. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, incomplete, inaccessible or unverifiable entries, account restrictions, network or platform failures, or other technical errors beyond its reasonable control. Subject to applicable law, Sponsor may modify, suspend or cancel the Contest if fraud, technical failures or circumstances beyond its control compromise its operation. In the event of inconsistency between these Rules and promotional materials, these Rules govern. Nothing in these Rules excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. Governing Law and Contact

The Contest is governed by applicable Canadian laws and the laws of Ontario, subject to mandatory laws that may apply to an entrant.
