Dutch Fries Topped With Savoury Peanut Sauce
Use simple pantry ingredients to take family and friends around the world without leaving your kitchen with these Dutch fries! Inspired by Dutch street food, hot McCain® Superfries® are topped with creamy mayo and a savoury peanut sauce.
1/2 cup (125 mL) crunchy peanut butter
1/4 cup (60 mL) coconut milk
2 tbsp (30 mL) soy sauce
2 tbsp (30 mL) fresh lime juice
1 tbsp (15 mL) honey
1 tsp (5 mL) minced garlic
1 tsp (5 mL) minced ginger
1 tsp (5 mL) chili-garlic sauce, such as sambal oelek
1 tsp (5 mL) fish sauce
1 bag (650 g) McCain® Superfries® Straight Cut
2 tsp (10 mL) finely grated lime zest
1/4 cup (60 mL) mayonnaise
1/4 cup (60 mL) finely chopped white onion
2 tbsp (30 mL) coarsely chopped roasted peanuts
- Peanut Sauce: Whisk peanut butter with coconut milk, soy sauce, lime juice, honey, garlic, ginger, chili sauce and fish sauce until smooth. If sauce is too thick, add 1 tbsp water at a time, until desired consistency is achieved. Sauce can be stored, tightly covered in the refrigerator, for up to 3 days.
- Dutch Superfries®: Prepare McCain® Superfries® Straight Cut as per packaging directions. Transfer to a large bowl and sprinkle with lime zest; toss until evenly distributed.
- Arrange fries in a large, shallow serving platter. Drizzle with mayonnaise and top with 1/4 cup (60 mL) peanut sauce. Scatter onions and peanuts over top.
Tip: Make drizzling the mayonnaise easy and impressive by spooning it into a re-sealable, plastic bag, then snip off a small piece of the corner for an instant piping bag.
