Albertan Steak Poutine
The best of the west! Our Albertan Steak Poutine combines tender slices of juicy steak with crispy McCain® Superfries®. Smothered in melted cheese curds and gravy, this poutine is sure to be a new favourite.
1 16 oz sirloin steak
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tbsp canola oil
1 bag (650 g) McCain® Superfries® Straight Cut
1 bag (400 g) cheese curds
1 398 mL can gravy (poutine gravy is best)
Cook McCain® Superfries® Straight Cut according to package directions. Season steak with salt and pepper.
Heat oil in a cast iron pan over high heat. Add steak and cook until medium doneness, about 8 minutes, flipping halfway through cook time. Remove from pan and let rest for 10 minutes. Once rested cut into 1/4 inch slices.
Meanwhile, heat gravy in microwave or in a small saucepan over medium heat until simmering.
Transfer Superfries® to a platter, top with cheese curds, steak slices and gravy. Serve immediately.
Tip: remove steak from fridge and allow to reach room temperature before cooking
