Roasted Garlic Hummus & Savoury Wedges

​​Ever tried homemade hummus? Try roasting garlic for a sweeter, milder heart-healthy dip. Serve it with Savoury Wedges and your guests will never want to leave.

Savoury Wedges


1 head garlic

1/2 cup olive oil

1 bag (650 g) McCain® Savoury  Wedges

1 can (19 oz/540 mL) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

1/3 cup tahini

1/4 cup lemon juice

3/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1/4 tsp paprika


  1. Preheat oven to 425˚F (220˚C). Trim off top of garlic to expose cloves. Place on small square of foil and drizzle with 1 tbsp (15 mL) of the olive oil. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until garlic is tender.
  2. Meanwhile, bake McCain® Savoury Wedges according to package directions.
  3. In food processor, purée chickpeas, remaining olive oil, tahini, lemon juice, 3 tbsp (45 mL) water, salt and pepper. Squeeze out roasted garlic into food processor. Pulse until combined. Transfer to serving dish and sprinkle with paprika. Serve with McCain® Savoury Wedges.
  4. Just add friends!™


Tip: Substitute smoked paprika for paprika if desired.
